Bar Oryan

Hi, I’m Bar Oryan. I am currently a postdoc at the Laboratoire de Géologie at Ecole Normale Supérieure (ENS) working with Jean-Arthur Olive .
Before that, I was a PhD student at Lamont Doherty Earth Observatory , Columbia University where I worked with Roger Buck and Michael Steckler.

My research focuses on studying deformation processes occurring in subduction zones over different time scales. I am particularly interested in simulating earthquake cycles and understand the mechanisms that shape our planet one seismic cycle at a time. My research involves using numerical codes such as FLAC and Pylith as well as analytical approaches and data analysis of geodetic datasets, heat flow measurements and most recently geomorphological indexes.
